Pattern Designer

On a barge using anchors, survey team is often asked to create pictures of future anchor patterns or towing operation to illustrate a procedure. Even if all coordinates are given by anchor-foreman, this task can be time consuming and, depending of navigation software used, it can be difficult to modify one step in a complete mooring or towing procedure.
It's why I decided to create Pattern Designer. This software can be used by survey team and/or anchor foreman to create, store and modify all steps needed for a complete morring or towing operation.
For procedures made in head office, you can drastically reduce the time needed to create procedure. Mooring procedure can be created and designed by your engineers team without hours spent on "heavy" cad software. All moorings steps created by Pattern Designer can be exported in standard cad format and can be edited or displayed by external softwares.
You just need to define how many vessels are involved in this operation (vessel shapes can be in Navipac 'shp' format or 'dxf/dwg' format), how many anchor's fairlead you have on the barge. You can then define :
  • Barge position : coordinates and heading
  • Anchor position : in absolute or relative coordinates from fairleads
  • Anchor status : connected or not
  • Mid line buoys : you can add up to 20 MLB per anchor line
  • Tug coordinates : coordinates and heading
  • Tug status : connected or not. A tug can be connected to a fairlead or to a specific barge's offset
It's easy to create several steps for a complete procedure, showing the different status of barge and tugs during the complete operation. All these steps can be saved in a file and exported a Cad files or picture files. All vessels and anchors positions can also be exported as waypoints (Navipac format) or in a text file. The file generated can be sent to you office for approval or modification.
